About the role

Senior Deployment Strategist bridging customer business problems with Databricks technical solutions within the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team. Owns product direction and delivery from discovery to production launch and adoption, working closely with C-suite, Sales, and FDE engineers to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to perform deep discovery, map the customer's organization, quantify business value of $10M+ problems, and define the pilot including MVP, success criteria, and timeline.
  • Author the PRD, prioritize the engineering backlog, manage scope, and act as the primary hands-on QA tester. Translate business requirements into data, integration, security, and operational requirements for engineers.
  • Drive the FDE build team through an agile delivery process, manage stakeholders from the C-suite to engineers, unblock technical or organizational issues. Lead technical discovery and design reviews.
  • Own the Day 0 launch, manage the war room, drive the solution from launch to full adoption, capture user feedback, iterate, and prove defined business value. Ensure production readiness across data quality, testing, security, performance, and operations.
  • Scope ongoing maintenance, create customer documentation/training, and identify next high-value FDE engagement. Codify reusable solution patterns and feed insights back to Product and Engineering.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience delivering complex, customer-facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements, or equivalent founder/technical-builder experience.
  • Experience delivering data, machine learning, or generative AI systems into production and understanding integration, operational, and adoption challenges.
  • Comfort with onsite customer engagement (often 25-50%, sometimes higher).
  • Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, Java, or SQL.
