About the role

Senior role within the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team acting as the product manager for field engagements, bridging customer strategic problems with Databricks solutions from discovery through production launch and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for pilots and write PRDs guiding engineering teams.
  • Own end-to-end product ownership: prioritize backlog, manage scope, and act as primary hands-on QA tester.
  • Lead technical discovery, shape solution architecture with FDEs, and ensure prototype-to-production viability.
  • Drive Day 0 launch, manage the war room, and shepherd adoption, including feedback loops and production readiness.
  • Scope ongoing maintenance, create customer documentation/training, and identify next high-value FDE engagements.

Qualifications

  • Typically 7+ years of experience delivering complex, customer-facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements, or equivalent experience as a founder or technical builder.
  • Experience delivering data, machine learning, or generative AI systems into production and understanding integration, operational, and adoption challenges.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or SQL.
  • Willingness to work onsite with customers (often 25-50%, sometimes higher).
