About the role

Senior Deployment Strategist bridging customer problem space and Databricks technical solution within the Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) program. Owns product direction of engagements from discovery to production launch, partnering with E2E teams to deliver measurable business value and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to perform deep discovery, map the customer's organization, quantify business value of $10M+ problems, and define the pilot, MVP, success criteria, and timeline.
  • Author the PRD and prioritize the engineering backlog; act as primary hands-on QA tester.
  • Drive technical discovery and lead architecture discussions with FDEs; ensure solutions can move from prototype to production.
  • Own the Day 0 launch, manage the war room, drive adoption, ensure production readiness across data quality, testing, security, performance, and operations.
  • Scope ongoing maintenance, create customer documentation/training, and identify next high-value FDE engagement; codify reusable solution patterns.

Qualifications

  • Executive presence and strong communication for engaging C-suite and stakeholders.
  • Product judgment and delivery capabilities to define what to build, write product requirements, and manage complex agile projects.
  • Technical fluency in modern data and AI architectures (cloud platforms, data pipelines, data models, distributed systems, APIs, security, governance, ML, generative AI patterns).
  • Hands-on technical ability in at least one language (Python, Java, or SQL); ability to explore data, build/adapt prototypes, troubleshoot.
  • Typically 7+ years delivering complex, customer-facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements; experience in high-growth tech company or forward-deployed environment is valuable.
  • Willingness to onsite with customers (often 25-50%, sometimes higher).
