About the role

Deployment Strategist (DS) bridge between a customer’s multi-million-dollar business problem and Databricks’ technical solution; serves as product manager for field engagements from discovery through production launch and adoption, partnering with FDEs to deliver outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for pilots and write PRD guiding the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Sales for deep discovery, map customer organization, quantify business value, and define pilot scope, MVP, success criteria, and timeline.
  • Author PRD, prioritize engineering backlog, manage scope, and act as primary hands-on QA tester.
  • Lead technical discovery, shape solution architecture with FDEs, ensure solutions can move from prototype to production.
  • Own Day 0 launch, manage war room, drive adoption, ensure production readiness across data quality, testing, security, performance, and operations.
  • Scope ongoing maintenance plans, create customer documentation/training, and identify next high-value FDE engagements.

Qualifications

  • Typically 7+ years of experience delivering complex, customer-facing data, analytics, AI, or software engagements, or equivalent experience as a founder or technical builder.
  • Experience delivering data, machine learning, or generative AI systems into production and understanding integration, operational, and adoption challenges.
  • Onsite engagement with customers (often 25-50%, sometimes higher) to drive delivery.
