About the role

Senior Software Engineer to join the API Platform team building a high-performance GraphQL API and event gateway for a green energy platform, collaborating in a distributed team and using Scala/TypeScript, IaC, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support core products including a GraphQL API and event gateway using Scala and TypeScript.
  • Work on a mix of discovery/spike tasks, technical debt reduction, and core delivery tickets.
  • Play an active role in agile ceremonies, including weekly planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with the wider engineering community on platform health reviews, post-mortems, and improving shared services.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage deployments on Kubernetes.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in backend software development.
  • Strong professional experience with Scala and TypeScript.
  • Proven track record with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Experience working with GraphQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB).
  • Evidence of proactively and independently solving complex problems.
  • A collaborative mindset with experience in pair programming and peer reviews.
