About the role
Role focused on defining and executing Plaid's data supply expansion beyond traditional bank data, including non-bank data types (property tax, merchant/SKU-level purchases, utilities, tax, payroll). 0-1 level role to build Plaid's first non-bank data offering within a year and set multi-year strategy for data partnerships and quality.
Responsibilities
- Set the multi-year strategy for non-bank data supply, grounded in product and customer needs
- Build and quickly execute against the one year plan - showcasing fast momentum and impact
- Force-rank new data types across the company and own the business case for each, including recommended againsts
- Make and defend build, buy, and partner decisions alongside data partnerships, corporate development, and legal
- Ship Plaid's first non-bank data offerings, as internal inputs or externalized to customers
- Partner with engineering and data teams on taxonomies, quality controls, and coverage metrics for new data types
- Define the metrics for supply expansion and report progress to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience, including 5+ in product management or equivalent founder/operator roles
- Analytical rigor: comfortable with data, cost models, and operational metrics
- Deep technical fluency: can reason about large-scale systems, load management, API platforms, and ML models
- Platform & systems thinking mindset: design for reuse and long-term impact
- Leadership, stakeholder influence, and communication: cross-functional collaboration and ability to explain complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
- Founder mentality: experience launching a company, product, or new vertical and navigating headwinds
