Store Floor Lead at Sur La Table, Glendale, WI, part-time on-site role supporting the GM/SM, acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) to drive sales, operations, and exceptional in-store experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement. Communicate performance issues to General Manager/Store Manager.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Maintain product expertise and pursue available training and additional resources.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through effective customer engagement and team motivation.
  • Identify customer needs and offer relevant solutions; maximize selling opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals contributing to store revenue (KPIs include individual sales volume, average transaction value, customer conversion rates).
  • Direct employees to ensure stock levels and visual merchandising standards.
  • Complete inventory transactions (receiving, MOS, RARs).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws and record time worked per policy.
  • Model and enforce SLT policies and SOPs with the team.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
  • 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities to inspire, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Passion for community engagement and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems (preferred).
