Store Floor Lead for Sur La Table in Albany, NY, supporting the GM/SM as Manager on Duty to drive sales, operations, and exceptional in-store experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement. Communicate performance issues to the GM/Store Manager.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
  • Represent brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Stay current on products and training resources; seek additional resources independently.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through customer engagement and team motivation.
  • Identify customer needs and offer relevant solutions to maximize selling opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to store revenue (KPIs include individual sales volume, average transaction value, customer conversion rates).
  • Direct employees to maintain appropriate merchandise stock levels and ensure floor is stocked and merchandised per visual standards.
  • Complete inventory transactions (receiving, MOS, RARs).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws and accurately record time.
  • Model and communicate SLT policies and SOPs to associates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in specialty or culinary retail.
  • Strong leadership to inspire, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.
