About the role

Senior Software Engineer to join Elastic's Integrations Team, focusing on building and maintaining developer-facing surfaces that connect Elastic to the broader ecosystem (language clients, CLI, MCP server, third-party integrations, and agent skills). Emphasis on ease of discovery, connection, and usability within AI/agent ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its infrastructure (primarily in Go).
  • Develop the platform for universal agent skills: portable format, authoring/publishing tooling, and linting for cross-agent skills.
  • Help set the correctness bar with evals to back shipped skills and tools.
  • Design and deliver integrations enabling Elastic inside third-party AI ecosystems, collaborating with product teams and partners.
  • Contribute to Elastic CLI to improve developer and agent efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack (Go and Rust).
  • Apply product thinking, defend opinions on what to build and why, informed by the ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience in backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and MCP protocols; emphasis on evaluation-based correctness.
  • Significant recent experience in Go and ideally other languages.
  • Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to read and contribute to unfamiliar codebases and languages.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering.
  • Product thinking and strong opinions on ecosystem-building.
  • Focus on usability and developer experience.
  • Ability to work in a remote, distributed team; strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn independently and adapt in a fast-changing space.
