About the role

Senior role in Professional Services delivering data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects for Databricks customers. Leads engagements, designs architectures, and ensures successful delivery with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients on short to medium term engagements addressing big data challenges using the Databricks platform.
  • Provide data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects requiring integration with client systems, training, and other technical tasks.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to specification and deliver excellent customer service (billable role).
  • Report to the Sr. Manager, Professional Services.
  • Collaborate with Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect and Customer team to deliver technical components of engagements.
  • Provide product and implementation feedback to Engineering and Customer Support to enable rapid issue resolution.
  • Guide strategic customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications; lead end-to-end migrations and transformational projects.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience with Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Cloud Native and Data Lakes in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture or consulting role.
  • Comfortable writing code in either Python or Scala.
  • Experience with technical project delivery - managing scope and timelines.
  • Documentation and white-boarding skills.
  • Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
  • Build skills in technical areas which support the deployment and integration of Databricks-based solutions to complete customer projects.
