About the role

Senior Robot SW Triage & RCA Engineer focused on software issue triage and root cause analysis for Agility Robotics’ humanoid systems. Responsibilities include remote triage using log telemetry and video analysis, deep-dive RCA at hardware-software interfaces, developing diagnostic scripts/tools, and creating documentation to improve software reliability across the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead voice in issue triage; classify failures as software, firmware, or system-level regressions.
  • Disposition issues to software teams with clean tickets including logs, video clips, and analysis.
  • Manage and prioritize escalated SW-related investigations to address critical safety or performance risks.
  • Lead end-to-end RCA investigations using log review, telemetry analysis, and video diagnostics to pinpoint software/hardware interface bugs.
  • Develop and execute scripts or data visualization tools to parse large log sets and identify intermittent failure trends.
  • Apply structured methodologies (e.g., 5-Whys, Fishbone) to identify root causes.
  • Author and maintain Gold Standard RCA reports and troubleshooting guides.
  • Promote rigorous documentation and data-driven problem solving.
  • Create reusable diagnostic frameworks to automate identification of known software issues.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Integration, Software-Hardware interface, or R&D with a focus on software on complex mechatronic or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with monitoring/observability platforms (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, New Relic).
  • Experience interfacing with cloud storage and databases (e.g., AWS S3, SQL, NoSQL) for telemetry and video datasets.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguous software-hardware intersections to find root causes.
  • Experience creating technical documentation or bug reports for software engineering audiences.
  • Preferred: HW/SW integration and design on HiL.
