About the role
Mechanical Assembly Technician role focusing on fabrication, assembly, testing, and rapid prototyping support for neuroscience-focused equipment in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual & machine-assisted fabrication of plastic, metal, and electronic parts
- Assemble various mechanical & low-voltage electrical systems, then perform validation and testing
- Maintain a safe work environment through the development of new products and processes
- Provide support and feedback to the other members of the assembly/engineering team
- Follow assembly SOPs and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and rework instructions
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation where required
- Support rapid prototyping and component 3D printing
- Operate and maintain machine shop and assembly tools
Qualifications
- Experience and confidence in operating various hand and power tools
- Machine shop tool proficiency and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow assembly SOPs and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and rework instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively and reliably with the team
- Ability to work independently when required
