About the role

Qualified Accountant to maintain books and records for Jane Street’s European businesses and prepare monthly and annual financial statements, interacting with regional and global accounting teams and external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing or reviewing accounting reconciliations and financial schedules that support the financial statements
  • Collaborating with outside auditors and advisors, interpreting GAAP, and documenting accounting policies and internal controls
  • Working closely with the accounting-specific Technology team to improve and automate processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ACA or equivalent with 1-2 years of post-qualified experience in an accounting role
  • Experience with preparing financial statements and account reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of FRS 102 and/or IFRS; knowledge of U.S. GAAP is desired but not required
  • Organised with strong communication skills; able to build collaborative relationships across groups
  • Self-motivated to improve processes
  • Excellent time management; able to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; detail-oriented with a can-do attitude
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Preferably familiar with regulatory regimes
  • Experience with using Workday (Financial Data Model) is a plus
  • Fluent in English
