About the role

Vice President of Product & Engineering responsible for vision, strategy, and execution of Smalls' digital product, experience, and underlying technology; accountable for business results and alignment with marketing, engineering, and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define a multi-year vision for the digital product and platform and convert it into a rallying roadmap.
  • Decide investment, build scope, resources, and tech stack alignment to support the roadmap.
  • Tie product decisions to long-term vision and financial goals of the business.
  • Own the digital product experience including onsite experience, paths to purchase and checkout, account/subscription experience, and product surfaces that drive engagement.
  • Shape UX, merchandising, and onsite flows to reflect the brand at its best.
  • Own product and experience metrics that drive revenue (conversion, AOV, LTV, retention).
  • Ensure commercial considerations influence prioritization and demonstrate fluency in business economics.
  • Partner with Marketing on acquisition, retention, and reactivation; align product and brand.
  • Set technical direction, build a fast, quality-driven org; make build-vs-buy decisions and maintain healthy stack.
  • Attract, develop, and motivate a cross-functional product and engineering team; optimize resource allocation and culture.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years (or equivalent) across product and technology leadership with proven strategy, leadership, and growth of key metrics.
  • Experience scaling consumer commerce, including DTC subscription and ecommerce; familiarity with subscription-first models and one-time purchase dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of the modern DTC stack, including Shopify; capability to set engineering direction and earn engineers’ trust.
  • Experience leading at the product–marketing interface; ability to align growth, brand, and product.
  • Exceptional people leadership with ability to attract talent and build high-performing teams.
  • Clear communicator who can articulate the why behind the roadmap and engage both engineers and executives.
