About the role

Senior engineering role building and on-site implementation of AI agent deployments for credit unions. Responsible for taking agents from sold to live, integrating with core banking/LOS systems, tuning agent behavior, and delivering production-ready deployments with direct customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ship first production change to a live agent through team review and explain end-to-end member call flow on the Agents Platform
  • Learn one agent deeply: system prompt, tool contracts, orchestration triggers, compliance gates, implementation process from kickoff to go-live
  • Join at least one credit union implementation as the second engineer, including a live testing session with staff
  • Map inefficiencies in current implementation process and identify defaults/tools to remove rounds trips
  • Own technical side of one credit union implementation end to end: core and LOS integration, agent configuration, testing, go-live, first weeks of production
  • Run eval and tuning loop for agent (golden transcripts, rubric judges, regression suite) and be trusted to change behavior without a second engineer checking your work
  • Complete at least two on-site visits and translate findings into product decisions with pod lead and PM
  • Contribute at least one reusable capability back to the Agents Platform for future implementations
  • Take one net-new agent from sold to live at its first credit union with demonstrable data
  • Be the engineer credit union staff seek for deployment changes
  • Write implementation playbook for agent so AI Ops can run second/third deployments without you
  • Shape future agents by learning from field breakdowns

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering in a fast-paced environment, preferably SaaS/Fintech, with senior TypeScript and Node.js backend experience in a large codebase (NestJS, CQRS, schema-validated boundaries, dependency injection)
  • Integration and API engineering experience with secure service-to-service endpoints, third-party APIs, webhooks, and legacy banking system integration
  • Security and auth judgment: OAuth and m2m auth, tenant-scoped access, secrets handling, no PII in logs
  • Customer presence: ability to communicate with senior stakeholders, justify recommendations, and own outcomes in customer-facing situations
  • Ability to manage code quality under deadlines with deliberate debt management
  • Willingness to travel ~20% (1-2 week stretches around kickoff/go-live); based in the US
  • Genuine appetite for LLM agents: evaluation discipline for non-deterministic systems and understanding that some decisions must not reach the model
  • Nice to have (not required): voice/telephony (LiveKit, Twilio), Temporal/event-driven orchestration, Python, core banking/LOS integration experience, credit union/banking domain knowledge
