About the role

Senior Software Engineer to join the Integrations Team, focusing on building Elastic’s developer-facing surfaces (MCP server, language clients, CLI, third-party integrations, and skills) to make Elastic easily accessible inside AI ecosystems. Role involves Go/Rust development, partnering with product and external partners, and contributing across tools and integrations for the Elastic Stack.

Responsibilities

  • Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and related infrastructure in Go.
  • Develop platform for universal agent skills, including portable format, authoring/publishing tooling, and linting to ship cross-agent skills.
  • Help set correctness standards and ensure skills/tools are backed by evaluations.
  • Design and deliver integrations with third-party AI ecosystems in collaboration with product teams and partners.
  • Contribute to the Elastic CLI to improve developer efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack in Go and Rust.
  • Bring product thinking and strong opinions on what to build and why, informed by the ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and MCP protocols.
  • Significant recent experience with Go and, ideally, other languages.
  • Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to read and contribute to unfamiliar codebases.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
  • Product thinking and interest in the wider ecosystem with strong opinions on value propositions.
  • Focus on usability and developer experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment and remotely as part of a distributed team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including with customers and external partners.
  • Self-motivation, ability to learn independently.
