About the role

Engineering role focusing on identity, governance, and automated access control across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) within Twilio’s Cloud Native Foundations Team.

Responsibilities

  • WEAR THE CUSTOMER'S SHOES: Design, build, and operate automations and access tools to streamline developer workflows while securing multi-cloud environments. Collaborate with security and technical leadership to convert tasks into working code.
  • BE AN OWNER (CODE QUALITY): Participate in code reviews and follow established patterns, testing standards and policy-as-code frameworks across the platform.
  • BE AN OWNER (INFRASTRUCTURE & OBSERVABILITY): Support multi-cloud access infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Maintain least-privilege IAM policies, identity federation, role provisioning, and automated lifecycle workflows. Maintain observability including metrics, alerts, and basic distributed tracing across core data pipelines.
  • CHAMPION ENGINEERING HEALTH: Promote secure architectural practices and IAM best practices; flag access drift, technical debt, security vulnerabilities, and platform issues.
  • GROW AND COLLABORATE: Seek feedback and mentorship, participate in sprint planning, and share learnings with peers to grow into a more senior role.

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/Platform engineering experience with practical exposure to multi-cloud environments, IAM, or platform automation.
  • Practical experience with, or interest in, AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
  • Practical experience or familiarity with Terraform, Harness, or similar IaC tools.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and basic exposure to account management, IAM permissions, or core services; multi-account/multi-project cloud architecture familiarity is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of Shell, Terraform, YAML, or Go (Golang); willingness to build proficiency across the rest.
  • Solid understanding of core security concepts (authentication, authorization, least-privilege, secrets management) and ability to build self-service platform tooling.
