About the role

Software Engineering Manager for a Core Infrastructure team within Snap's Platform Engineering organization. Leads backend and full-stack developers building compute infrastructure powering Snap backends at internet scale; hands-on with technical strategy, design discussions, and complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of backend and full-stack developers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
  • Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
  • Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
  • Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
  • Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
  • - 8+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 3+ years of post-grad software development experience
  • - 1+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
  • - Experience with distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure technologies
