About the role

Graduate Software Engineer position in Sydney focusing on hands-on software development, collaboration, and learning within Engine by Starling, the SaaS arm of Starling Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Build & Innovate: Contribute to the platform and internal tools, building new features in a configurable way.
  • Collaborate: Work in small, collaborative teams to own and deliver projects.
  • Learn & Grow: Share knowledge and contribute to the learning culture.
  • Own It: Take ownership of projects and tackle a range of problems.

Qualifications

  • Recent university graduate or on track to graduate by end of current academic year
  • Ability to demonstrate quality code
  • Experience working in a team
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude
  • Open to and values feedback to improve
  • Eligible to work in Australia and ready to start a full-time position in early 2027
