Responsibilities

  • Originating and driving novel machine learning research directions that shape Roboflow's research agenda.
  • Identify promising open problems in computer vision and develop original theoretical approaches and algorithms to address them.
  • Publish work at top conferences.
  • Partner closely with engineering to translate research into production systems at scale.

Qualifications

  • Masters / PhD in AI, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or similar field of study, or equivalent industry experience
  • History of publication at conferences/journals (CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of ML theory and ability to turn open problems into novel research directions
  • Values scientific rigour and reproducibility
  • Passion for computer vision and solving user-valued problems
  • Pragmatic approach to utility in practice (not just theory)
  • Cares about open source and broader research/developer ecosystem
  • Strong written and verbal communication to explain work to scientific, developer, and internal stakeholders
