About the role

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the Storage I/O team to build the next generation cloud storage I/O platform that supports fast and reliable reads and writes against cloud storage systems, boosting performance and reliability of the query processing system.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the next generation cloud storage I/O platform for fast and reliable reads/writes against cloud storage systems.
  • Contribute to the performance and reliability of the query processing system.
  • Work on low-level systems aspects and distributed data systems as part of the Storage and IO team.

Qualifications

  • BS (or higher) in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of production level experience in either Java, Scala or C++.
  • Experience with low level systems (OS, network stacks, CPU optimizations).
  • Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world use cases.
  • Experience with distributed systems, databases, and big data systems (Apache Spark, Hadoop).
