About the role

A paid 12-week summer internship at Databricks for aspiring product designers to work on features for the Databricks platform, conduct research with customers, and develop end-to-end design prototypes with mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a cross-functional team to build features for the Databricks platform
  • Manage your project end-to-end, from discovery and ideation through final design prototype for engineering to implement from
  • Conduct research with customers to better understand their needs and improve your design

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field with an expected graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Excellent interaction design skills with knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and usability
  • Proven ability to efficiently build interactive prototypes leveraging the latest in AI tooling
  • Use analytical skills to make data-driven decisions (e.g. analyze product usage) and can conduct basic usability testing and semi-structured interviews
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex topics to partners in written and verbal form
  • Excited to solve ambiguous problems with a collaborative team
