About the role

Remote-friendly IT role focused on identity, device, and SaaS architecture with automation, security-first mindset, and ownership of end-to-end employee lifecycle and IT operations in a SaaS-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identity & access management (Okta-first): SSO, SCIM provisioning, group rules, profile/attribute mapping, authentication policies, MFA/FastPass, admin role scoping; migrate apps to Okta; RBAC design; birthright and time-bound access; governance of service/shared accounts; recurring access reviews; SOC 2 audit readiness; collaboration with Security on zero-trust posture.
  • Automation, workflows & integrations: design/build/maintain automations in n8n and Okta Workflows; integrate with ticketing platform, Slack, Google Workspace, Notion, Rippling, Ashby, and other business apps; API-driven integrations with error handling and logging; end-to-end employee lifecycle automation; HR/People Ops collaboration; self-service catalog, approval routing, and production-grade automation management.
  • Device management (macOS & Windows): own MDM (Iru/Kandji/Jamf/Intune), ABM/ADE, Autopilot, compliance, patching, app deployment, FileVault/BitLocker; extend Okta Device Trust; harden enrollment controls; hardware lifecycle tooling and data.
  • IT operations & service excellence: frontline support via Medely Help; hands-on fixes; ticketing platform configuration (catalogs, routing, SLAs); maintain Helpdesk KB and Notion runbooks; develop IT operating rhythms and clear ownership.
  • Zoom & Zoom Phone administration: manage Zoom Workplace/Phone provisioning, policies, AI features, compliance; lifecycle integration with hires/role changes; E911, numbers, porting, queues, IVR; monitor usage for right-sizing.
  • Safe AI enablement: enable/ govern AI tools via SSO/SCIM; AI-driven workflows with human-in-the-loop; governance of AI integrations and data boundaries; vendor reviews and acceptable-use policy.
  • SaaS governance & shadow IT (Torii): SaaS discovery and triage; assign business owners; license reclamation and automations based on Torii signals.
  • Security operations mindset: least privilege, zero-trust; monitor Okta logs; secrets management with 1Password; incident response support; security awareness for employees and SOC 2 evidence.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in IT operations / systems administration / IT engineering in a SaaS-first, remote company
  • Deep, hands-on Okta administration (SSO, SCIM, group rules, attribute mapping, authentication policies, Device Trust, Okta Workflows)
  • MDM for macOS and Windows (Iru/Kandji/Jamf/Intune), including ABM/ADE, Autopilot, compliance policies, app deployment
  • Genuinely comfortable supporting both macOS and Windows (85/15 split)
  • Microsoft 365 / Office 365 experience: licensing, app deployment, Entra ID basics, Google Workspace coexistence
  • Proven experience building automations and integrations with n8n (strongly preferred), Okta Workflows, Zapier/Make, or Workato
  • Core competency building with AI in a governed way (LLM APIs, MCP connectors, AI agents)
  • Strong understanding of RBAC, joiner/mover/leaver processes, SOC 2 IT controls
  • Partnership with HR/People Ops on employee lifecycle management
  • 1Password admin experience (provisioning, vaults, policies, recovery)
  • Security-minded approach: reading auth logs, risk-aware configurations
  • Experience with SaaS management / shadow IT discovery (Torii, etc.)
  • Google Workspace administration
  • Zoom and Zoom Phone administration
  • Advanced experience administering ticketing platforms (Jira Service Management, Freshservice, Zendesk, Intercom)
  • Technical translator able to bridge business and technical perspectives
  • Clear writer of runbooks, KBs, and decision docs
  • Self-starter with appetite for technical growth
  • Ability to work in a remote, collaborative environment
  • Notion platform ownership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience (not strictly required if demonstrated capability)
