About the role

Terminal is hiring a Founding Operations Associate to help build and scale core operational functions in workplace, people, events, and finance. The role involves hands-on ownership, cross-functional collaboration with the Chief of Staff, and establishing processes and documentation as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Run workplace operations: manage HQ, vendor relations, building management coordination, and ensure the office is stocked (IT, supplies, snacks).
  • Deliver awesome events: plan and execute offsites, host recruiting and customer-centric events, and create scalable event plans.
  • Drive People and hiring processes: onboard new team members, support recruiting workflows, interview scheduling, and offer preparation in partnership with talent leads.
  • Support finance operations: manage accounts payable, vendor onboarding, expense tracking, billing reviews, and collections outreach.
  • Drive system and process documentation: establish standard operating procedures, maintain the Terminal handbook, and leverage AI/automation to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

  • A strong operational background: 2–5 years in business operations, People ops, events management, or startup generalist role with end-to-end implementation experience.
  • Ownership without a playbook: ability to diagnose challenges and build durable systems.
  • Detail and follow-through: high accuracy in task lists, vendor management, calendar logistics, and HR records.
  • Influence and judgment: ability to align multiple stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Systems and data fluency: proficient in spreadsheets, HR platforms (e.g., Rippling), Slack, Notion/Drive; capable with AI tools to boost productivity.
  • Tools you’ll be using: Claude, Rippling, Ashby, Notion, Venn, Measure, Slack

Terminal is Plaid for telematics data in commercial trucking. Companies building next generation insurance products, financial services and fleet software for trucking use our Universal API to access GPS data, speeding data and vehicle stats. Raghav (CEO) and Connor (CTO) led product and engineering at a series b-funded neobank where they spent 2.5 years integrating middleware APIs like Plaid & Stripe. Before that, Connor spent 3 years building software for his family-owned logistics company which was acquired by a private equity firm. Raghav’s family is in fleet operations and owns an HVAC company in San Francisco where they operate a fleet of 13 commercial vehicles.
