About the role

Senior Accountant responsible for core parts of month-end and year-end close, intercompany and consolidation, and maintaining general ledger with a focus on operations-driven accounting in a remote US-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own prepaid, accrued expense and opex schedules, including professional fees, software and contractor spend.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for the monthly, quarterly and annual close, with clear support for estimates, allocations and accruals.
  • Book intercompany entries and support consolidation across US and international entities. Work with Tax on quarterly transfer pricing entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve differences before close.
  • Prepare flux analysis and explain monthly results to the Assistant Controller and FP&A.
  • Trace coding errors back to source systems such as payroll, purchasing and billing, and work with system owners to fix them upstream.
  • Document processes, accounting policies and controls to support annual audit.
  • Prepare audit support schedules and respond to auditor requests.
  • Automate manual close steps in NetSuite and related systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 3+ years as a Senior Accountant, or 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in an operational business: manufacturing, distribution, healthcare services, logistics or multi-site operations.
  • Strong grasp of US GAAP, accruals, reconciliations and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.
  • A track record of fixing root causes in upstream processes.
  • Clear, concise communication with accountants and non-accountants.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and follow-through on tight deadlines.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions.
