About the role

Senior Analytics Engineer role within Immersive's UK Engineering team, responsible for developing, maintaining and refactoring analytical data models in the data warehouse, collaborating with Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Software Engineers, and driving data quality, observability and model optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain high quality datasets for engineers to build robust customer facing reporting
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to assess and mitigate the impact of upstream product changes
  • Apply domain knowledge to develop semantic layers for business intelligence
  • Mentor junior engineers and, teaching them the SDLC process and engineering best practices

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in transforming, testing, and documenting data while maintaining robust data lineage
  • Knowledge of data modelling, data access, and data storage techniques
  • Experience following software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration
  • Strong proficiency using SQL in cloud data warehouses (Snowflake) and experience with performance optimization, data partitioning, and window functions
  • Ability to operate autonomously across multiple teams in ambiguous situations with high-level direction
  • Experience with dbt for data transformation
  • Experience with BI tooling such as Power BI or Looker
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus
