About the role

Senior Developer Advocate based in NYC, focused on championing the Elastic community, sharing technology with the world, and feeding feedback from developers to Elastic engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Speaking publicly at in-person and virtual conferences, meetups and other events.
  • Answering questions from developers on Discuss (forum), Slack and other channels.
  • Building and sharing content, including social media posts, in-depth blog posts, example code, demos, tutorials and videos on elastic.co or YouTube channel.
  • Contributing code on GitHub to Elastic and external repositories.
  • Providing feedback from the developer community to engineering teams to improve Elastic products.

Qualifications

  • Deep technical background and experience in an engineering role (e.g., software engineering).
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling content about technology (speaking, writing, demos).
  • Empathy for the community to help solve issues and provide internal feedback to improve products.
  • Comfortable working with a highly distributed team.
  • Experience working as a contributor in self-organizing teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
