About the role

Internship in engineering at Assort Health focusing on building products with generative AI and voice/transcription technologies for healthcare, with ownership of projects end-to-end in a fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our engineering team to build features and products from the ground up.
  • Own a scoped project from initial design through implementation, testing, and deployment, with support from experienced engineers.
  • Explore and apply generative AI and voice/transcription technologies to solve real problems for healthcare professionals.
  • Participate actively in product, design, and development discussions, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives.
  • Learn from healthcare professionals and translate their feedback into thoughtful product improvements.
  • Help develop secure, scalable software that meets our HIPAA compliance and security requirements.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and experience building software through coursework, personal projects, open-source contributions, or previous internships.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats, from understanding user needs and designing features to writing code, testing, and debugging.
  • Curiosity, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn through rapid iteration and experimentation.
  • Bonus points for experience with React, TypeScript, or Go; building or deploying AI/LLM applications; or working with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
