About the role

Leadership role owning R&D capital allocation and engineering operations, partnering with Engineering and Product Operations to drive product ROI, global workforce strategy, and scalable R&D finance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product-level ROI and R&D capital allocation
  • Establish frameworks to measure product-level ROI across a fast-moving platform and operationalize ROI metrics to inform investments
  • Define engineering economics in the AI era by modeling AI tooling and token spend alongside headcount and cloud spend
  • Measure end-to-end cost of AI-enabled engineering and optimize investments with Engineering
  • Shape global workforce and location strategy, including multi-year headcount planning and alignment with real estate and CapEx planning
  • Scale R&D finance operations with automated workflows for headcount management, PO planning, accruals, and SOX compliance
  • Dogfood the Databricks platform to modernize internal finance tooling and deliver self-serve insights
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance team for strategic capital allocation and operational execution

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Strategic/Product Finance or R&D FP&A
  • Experience managing large-scale R&D OpEx, headcount capacity modeling, and multi-site workforce planning in a high-growth enterprise software or cloud company
  • Proven track record partnering with senior Engineering, Product Operations, and People/Workplace executives
  • Systems-level thinker with ability to re-engineer financial processes from scratch
  • Experience building and leading high-output finance teams in fast-moving environments
