About the role

Hiring our first technical recruiter to own end-to-end technical recruiting, shaping talent strategy with founders, and building systems to attract and close top engineering talent for a healthcare-native AI platform.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End technical recruiting. Sourcing, outreach, screening, coordination, offers, and closing.
  • Candidate experience. Every touchpoint, from the subject line on the first email to day one in the office, should feel like Parakeet Health: personal, thoughtful, responsive.
  • Talent brand and community. Organize technical talks and private dinners. Craft social media posts and thoughtful outreach to attract the best talent.
  • Interview design and calibration. Partner with the founders to keep the bar high and the process tight.
  • Closing strategy. Build the closing plan with the hiring manager well before the offer goes out.
  • Operating with AI. Clear point of view on where AI sourcing, drafting, and automation tools create real leverage, and where the human still wins.
  • ATS discipline and metrics. Set the standard for data integrity and make decisions based on data (e.g., response rates, A/B testing copy).
  • People operations. Onboarding, employee experience, and team events (due to early-stage nature)

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of technical recruiting with meaningful early-stage startup exposure (seed through Series B).
  • A mix of agency and in-house backgrounds. Built pipelines from scratch, not just managed inbound flow.
  • Proven track record hiring strong engineers across backend, AI/ML, infra, full-stack, data science.
  • High agency, low ego. You don’t wait for perfect instructions. You see a gap and fix it.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator. Concise, personal, persuasive.
  • Hands-on fluency with modern AI sourcing tools. Know what saves real time and what’s hype, and tune filters accordingly.
  • Genuine curiosity about engineering and healthcare. Able to converse with senior engineers about their work and impact.
  • Strong closer. Navigate competing offers, comp negotiations, and ambivalent candidates with a plan.
  • Operating discipline to run 6+ searches in parallel with clean ATS
