About the role
Responsible for developing and improving features for a language learning app, including content serving, A/B testing, launching new markets and languages, and enhancing speech systems.
Responsibilities
- Build growth loops including referrals, in-app shareables, and Speak on web
- Improve new user acquisition and user retention
- Pricing and packaging of services
- Launch new markets and languages
- Improve text-to-speech system
- Improve audio and video streaming systems
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry experience as a Mobile Engineer
- Proficiency in Kotlin
- Strong understanding of mobile architectures including MVC/MVVM
- Experience with reactive programming (RX Java, etc)
- Knowledgable in mobile build practices (e.g., Jenkins, Bitrise)
- Experience with Google Play Billing
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Coach and mentor other engineers
- Strong product sense and cross-functional thinking
