About the role

Senior frontend engineer to build and improve frontend experiences for Airwallex Spend, focusing on expense management, real-time tracking, receipt capture, approvals, and integrations within a micro frontend architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Build maintainable, scalable web interfaces using React and TypeScript, contributing to a domain-based Micro Frontend architecture.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to clarify requirements, iterate quickly, and deliver high-quality experiences in production.
  • Integrate frontend applications with backend services through Apollo GraphQL and a Backend-for-Frontend layer, while contributing to shared UI components and the team's design system.
  • Raise engineering standards through code reviews, testing, documentation, bug triage, frontend performance improvements, and participation in Frontend Guild discussions, technical spikes, and experimentation.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional frontend software development experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, HTML/CSS, and modern web development practices.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and improving frontend performance.
  • A track record of writing well-tested, maintainable code and contributing to technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design.
