About the role

Lead and mentor a team to build a scalable, multi-currency wallet platform with a focus on financial accuracy and distributed systems, collaborating across product and engineering teams while exploring AI-enabled improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Mentor: Guide and support a team of talented engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment that encourages innovation and growth.
  • Hands-On Technical Leadership: Actively engage in the development process, providing hands-on guidance and taking responsibility for presenting and defending technical designs and decisions.
  • Develop Cutting-edge Solutions: Lead the development of a transaction engine focused on scalability, financial accuracy, and adaptability.
  • Build and maintain a distributed multi-currency wallet platform, providing precise financial oversight for client ledgers.
  • Collaborate across teams with product and other engineer teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
  • Innovate productivity-enhancing tools and processes, exploring AI opportunities to continually improve our engineering practices and system observability.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, energetic team environment that encourages innovation and continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in designing and implementing distributed systems, backend development and database technologies; experience solving availability and consistency challenges across mission-critical systems.
  • Strong Communicator: effectively convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and mentoring a team of developers; collaborative and inclusive leadership.
  • Analytical and Strategic: leverage data to drive decisions, align engineering with business objectives.
  • Proactive and Resourceful: take initiative and navigate complex technical challenges.
  • Meticulous and Accuracy-Driven: prioritize financial correctness and ensure reliability in client ledgers and transactions.
  • Curious Learner: eagerness to explore new tools and technologies, including AI.
  • Domain expertise: solid understanding of accounting concepts (ledger, financial transactions) and experience in financial domain.
