About the role

Senior backend-focused role building scalable, secure financial data and transaction systems within Airwallex's Financial Platform team.

Responsibilities

  • Build backend systems that support robust, scalable financial data and transaction processing.
  • Partner with Product Management, Design, and other Engineering teams to improve product functionality, meet customer needs, and work within regulatory requirements.
  • Improve product requirements through product insight and data-driven feedback, strengthening system robustness and scalability.
  • Raise financial data integrity by implementing and enhancing checks and processes that maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Protect user data and transactions by applying security best practices and preventing unauthorised access.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in backend software engineering, with expertise in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or equivalent.
  • Leverage data to make informed decisions and enhance platform effectiveness.
  • Deep understanding of customer and financial data needs, guiding approach to software development.
  • Collaborative mindset, sharing knowledge and embracing diverse perspectives to achieve collective goals.
  • Eager to learn new skills and technologies and adapt quickly to changes in the fintech landscape.
  • Focus on security, particularly protecting user data and preventing unauthorised access.
