About the role
Oversee regulatory strategy, government relations, and licensing to support BJAK's expansion across Southeast Asia, ensuring compliance and effective government engagement.
Responsibilities
- Own the regulatory roadmap, securing the licenses and approvals required for every business objective and market entry.
- Represent BJAK as the primary liaison, influencing policy and negotiating terms with high-level government officials and regulators.
- Translate hyper-growth plans into proactive, compliant, and scalable regulatory strategies for new markets.
- Serve as the strategic advisor to C-suite leadership on regulatory risk, anticipating changes, and providing solutions.
- Lead high-stakes interactions with government and regulatory bodies, negotiating licenses and advocating policy positions that support growth.
- Develop and execute regulatory strategies for new market entry and high-priority projects across Southeast Asia.
- Manage lifecycle of licenses and permits, ensuring timely renewals and compliance.
- Monitor and interpret complex regulatory changes globally, translating legislative impacts into strategic advice and implementation plans.
- Partner with Legal, Product, and Leadership teams to embed regulatory requirements into business planning and operations.
- Represent BJAK at industry forums and consultations to enhance reputation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, or Licensing.
- Proven track record in leading regulatory negotiations and managing complex government approvals.
- Deep knowledge of Malaysia’s government licensing and regulatory frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, or related field.
