About the role

Senior-level Platform Engineer to own and scale Joko's production platform, driving reliability, security, observability, developer experience, and AI-powered internal tooling while providing technical leadership and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & reliability: Own our production infrastructure end-to-end: resilience, capacity, and cost.
  • Observability & incident response: Build visibility, centralize logs/alerts, define healthy signals, design on-call experience.
  • Security & access control: Raise security bar with scalable access management, secrets handling, compliance, and release hardening.
  • Developer experience & release quality: Improve build/test/release workflows, promote solid quality prior to user release.
  • AI-powered internal tooling: Shape internal AI tooling, automation, and agents to boost team execution.
  • Technical leadership: Define platform roadmap, align stakeholders, lead cross-team initiatives, provide mentorship.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of software engineering, with significant time on platform, infrastructure, or reliability at scale (senior or staff level).
  • Production reliability & scale: Experience operating and evolving production systems with observability and incident response.
  • DevOps & automation mindset: Proficiency with CI/CD, releases, automation, and tooling.
  • Strong software engineering foundations: Clean, testable, maintainable code; able to contribute to codebase.
  • Cost/performance tradeoffs: Ability to balance reliability, latency, and cloud costs.
  • Security fundamentals: IAM, secrets, least privilege, hardening.
  • Cloud & modern infrastructure: Experience with AWS serverless setups; familiarity with IaC.
  • Product-minded: Focus on user experience, performance metrics, scale.
  • Problem solving: Comfortable with complex, evolving codebases and incremental improvements.
  • Collaboration & influence: Clear communication, mentorship, cross-functional collaboration.
  • Languages: English fluency; French not required.
