About the role

AI Software Engineer responsible for developing and scaling Joko AI, an AI shopping agent, including agent architecture, evaluation, data at scale, personalization, and collaboration with product. Remote-friendly with offices in Paris and Barcelona.

Responsibilities

  • Agent architecture: own the architecture of our agentic system — ensuring it constantly evolves, incorporates the latest advancements in the field, challenges existing assumptions, tests bold ideas, and pushes the boundaries of what our AI assistant can do.
  • Evaluation & monitoring: design and run robust evaluation frameworks to measure Joko AI's performance, catch regressions, and build confidence before shipping to production.
  • Capabilities & integrations: expand tools and capabilities Joko AI can leverage — web search, vector search, catalog lookups — for speed, reliability at scale.
  • Catalog & data at scale: ingesting, standardizing, and enriching a product catalog of hundreds of millions of entries at scale using AI.
  • Personalization: leverage rich user data (bank transactions, browser behavior) to build deeply personalized experience.
  • Experimentation & prototyping: identify new challenges, build features, prototype quickly, iterate from user feedback.
  • Staying ahead: stay current with models, agentic frameworks, research, translate into concrete improvements.
  • Fine-tuning & optimization: fine-tune models to improve quality, reduce latency, and cut costs.
  • Runtime & scalability: ensure Joko AI runs with high availability for hundreds of thousands of daily users.
  • Product collaboration: work with Product to define and implement the future UX of AI-assisted shopping.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including production system shipping.
  • Experience with senior or staff level ownership of ambitious projects.
  • Track record in production AI systems used by real users; emphasis on code quality, testing.
  • Technical skills in agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph or equivalents), LLM observability tools (LangFuse or equivalents), LLM APIs, evaluation tooling.
  • AI/ML background or degree is a strong plus.
  • Full-stack capability and ability to work across AI logic, infrastructure, and frontend prototyping.
  • Fast learner in AI landscape, follows research, experiments with models and tools.
  • Problem solving for latency, cost, hallucinations, long-term memory.
  • Team player with product collaboration and communication.
  • Drive, ownership, proactive issue spotting and solution proposing.
  • English fluency (written and spoken).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, willingness to learn and improve.
