About the role

Opportunity to join Microsoft Sovereign Cloud as part of the Windows Cloud Experiences Sovereign team to deliver and maintain Windows 365/AVD clients and infrastructure, improve service reliability, monitoring, incident response, and automation for secure, high-quality remote work in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • - Responds to incidents during on-call rotations by identifying impact, troubleshooting basic issues, mitigating impact, and deploying fixes to resolve root causes. Notifies product teams of major issues and escalates complex or multi-component issues to other engineers; contributes post-mortems and review meetings.
  • - Uses existing tools to troubleshoot availability, security, reliability, performance, and efficiency issues with guidance; suggests solutions and brings them to engineers or team leads.
  • - Develops understanding of safe and reliable production change management using automation and SDP to enable product engineering teams to implement changes across defined components with direction from others.
  • - Develops understanding of code, features, and operations of specific products at scale to contribute to improvements in availability, security, quality, observability, reliability, efficiency, and performance; participates in onboarding, code/design reviews, and regular meetings with product teams.
  • - Supports ongoing engagements with product engineering teams through code/design reviews, regular meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses; draws insights from telemetry data to propose improvements with guidance.

Qualifications

  • - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
