About the role

Senior Project Director role leading large-scale marine and civil infrastructure projects across international locations, with full lifecycle accountability from planning to delivery, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, quality, and contractual compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of large marine/civil projects (>$300m) or a portfolio of multiple projects via local deputies.
  • Take full ownership of project performance, including P&L, budget control, and cost monitoring.
  • Establish organizational charts, supervise project managers, and provide coaching and mentoring.
  • Define project processes, coordinate activities across trades/departments, and ensure timely availability of working documents.
  • Validate contractual options (technical/financial/legal), manage subcontracting and procurement, and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, authorities, and third parties to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and Quality Assurance/Control procedures.
  • Identify project risks early, develop alternative solutions, and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading large-scale projects including LNG jetties, breakwaters, and quay walls.
  • Deep knowledge of marine construction techniques, plant/fleet management, and high-level project execution methodologies.
  • Advanced understanding of contract management (FIDIC or similar) and international project governance.
  • Experience as an effective team manager with entrepreneurial leadership and collaboration skills.
  • High-level negotiation skills in complex, multi-stakeholder, international environments.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is a significant asset.
  • High flexibility and willingness to relocate globally as required by business needs.
