About the role

Senior Consulting Engineer to join ClickHouse's global Support Services team, delivering consultative and hands-on engineering support to enterprise customers, with responsibilities spanning project engineering, consultative support, and on-call/onsite engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering & Consulting (50%): design, architecture, integration, implementation, documentation, research, benchmarking, performance testing, reference architectures, sizing, migration, development, and tooling.
  • Consultative Support (50%): provide case-initiated consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects, assisting with implementation, onboarding, production launches, and POCs.
  • Provide architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on tasks.
  • Work as a member of the Support Team handling L1 to L3 cases and communications when not on projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to influence roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and assist with content such as Public/Internal Documentation, Knowledge Base, ClickHouse Learning, Reference Architecture, blogs, and benchmark results.
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.
  • Available for scheduling and on-call needs to deliver 24x7 support, including up to 35% onsite regional travel.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Accounts Management, Engineering/SRE, and/or Project Management.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience implementing, operating, and/or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed DBMS.
  • Technical breadth in DBMS, OLAP, Cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems software engineering, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, System/Network Administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with multiple engineers.
  • Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their IaaS offerings (e.g. EC2).
