About the role

Generalist role within Speak's APAC People Ops team covering Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. Focus on employee lifecycle operations, multi-market compliance, benefits administration, process improvement, and building scalable APAC HR infrastructure across three legal entities.

Responsibilities

  • Run the full FTE lifecycle across KR, JP, and TW: onboarding, contracts, probation, offboarding, HRIS, and data audits across three entities
  • Track multi-market compliance and update handbook with regulatory changes and recommended actions
  • Serve as go-to resource for lifecycle and People Ops questions across the region
  • Partner with Global People Ops to align global processes with local APAC nuances
  • Administer local and market-specific benefits and perks (e.g., health checkups, insurance enrollment, local perks)
  • Help run People programs operationally: engagement surveys, performance review cycles, and other recurring processes
  • Map existing workflows across three markets, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements
  • Build and maintain the APAC People Ops SOP and playbook library; document and keep current
  • Design and implement workflow improvements using AI and automation (contract generation, onboarding triggers, data entry, intake systems) to reduce manual load
  • Collect employee and partner feedback to drive high-impact improvements

Qualifications

  • 4~6 years of experience in people operations, HR, or related field
  • Ability to break down ambiguous problems, build and execute plans, manage projects
  • Strong communication skills with high EQ; able to navigate sensitive conversations and align stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize, make trade-offs under limited resources and urgency
  • Discretion with sensitive information and follow-through
  • Curiosity about AI and automation; quick to learn new tools
  • Comfort operating without clear direction in fast-moving environments
  • Proficiency in English for day-to-day collaboration and business writing
  • Based in Seoul and available for hybrid in-office work
