About the role
Ro is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy fulfillment team at the Romeoville, IL location. This role provides hands-on leadership to pharmacy technicians, ensures accurate and timely fulfillment of medications, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, maintain compliance, and prepare for inspections.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of pharmacy technicians with hands-on coaching, real-time feedback, and performance support
- Oversee onboarding, training, and ongoing skills development to ensure SOP compliance and operational excellence
- Support scheduling and staffing to ensure shift coverage and workflow continuity
- Ensure pharmacy fulfillment workflows (picking, packing, shipping) are accurate, efficient, and timely
- Act as primary point of contact for daily on-floor operational issues and escalate as appropriate
- Collaborate with pharmacists and cross-functional teams (operations, care, product) to resolve orders and shipping issues
- Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment to support order volume
- Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout fulfillment and drive adherence to standards
- Participate in workflow evaluations and implement operational enhancements
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspection-ready workspace aligned with policies and regulatory expectations
- Flexibly support fulfillment operations by assisting with order processing and technician duties as needed
- Support additional operational tasks as assigned by pharmacy leadership
Qualifications
- Willingness to obtain Illinois Pharmacy Technician license and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) within defined timeframe upon hire
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of people management experience in a high-volume environment (operations, fulfillment, manufacturing, warehouse, retail) including performance evaluations and coaching
- Proven leadership skills to motivate and guide a team in a fast-paced environment
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism in interactions with patients and team members
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for order accuracy and compliance
- Comfort with pharmacy automation equipment and technology-driven workflows
- Proactive, improvement-oriented mindset and ability to contribute to cross-functional problem-solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and collaborative spirit
