About the role

Lead migrations-focused Forward Deployed Engineer (Migration FDE) at Snowflake, embedding with customers to design, build, and implement data solutions on Snowflake AI Data Cloud, driving modernization of data and application ecosystems and enabling AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Migration Project Execution: set architecture and direction for FDE teams to design, build, and deploy robust software systems, tooling, and automation for customer solutions on Snowflake.
  • Software Development: contribute to product, build prototypes, develop features, fix issues to influence roadmap and product depth.
  • Client Collaboration and Enablement: provide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and training to client teams on Snowflake platform, including data management, analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and BI integration.
  • Platform Implementation: design scalable data pipelines and modern data architectures on Snowflake; ensure data quality, integrity, and efficient processing.
  • Performance Optimization & Best Practices: analyze and optimize data models, queries, and workflows to maximize performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness; champion Snowflake best practices.
  • Modern Data Solutions: evaluate, recommend, and implement modern data integration tools and techniques within Snowflake ecosystem.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: identify and resolve technical challenges, performance bottlenecks, and operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with customers on complex, multi-faceted projects.
  • Big plus: prior experience delivering complex data-driven application migrations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java or C++.
  • Experience with developing AI/ML applications.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing & data lake concepts, and cloud data platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
