About the role

Senior Solution Engineer in Tokyo, Japan, responsible for engaging with sales teams and partners to understand customer needs, design compelling value-driven demos, support PoCs, and drive deals from qualification to close in a fast-moving, AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and IT professionals of prospects/customers.
  • Demonstrate Snowflake technology value through demos and PoCs across the sales cycle.
  • Understand industry evolution, competitive positioning, and how Snowflake should be positioned.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to drive product improvements and marketing activities.

Qualifications

  • 7–8 years of industry experience with at least 3+ years in pre-sales/solution engineering.
  • Strong presentation skills for both engineers and executives (whiteboard and live demos).
  • Broad experience in large-scale databases, data warehousing, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on SQL and SQL analytics knowledge.
  • Ability to map customer business challenges to Snowflake solutions and craft compelling proposals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English.
