About the role

Multiverse’s AI Transformation team seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale end-to-end AI systems and tooling that enable an AI-first company. The role focuses on production AI agents, retrieval and context strategies, evaluation pipelines, tool integrations, and contributing to architectural direction within a fast, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver end-to-end AI systems: agents and the platforms they depend on. Identify user problems, break them down and build the AI system that solves it, in close partnership with adopter teams.
  • Design context and retrieval strategies: the retrieval pipelines, conversation memory, summarisation strategies, chunking logic and RBAC that make context useful and permission-aware
  • Build evaluation frameworks. Create automated eval pipelines and human-in-the-loop review processes to verify AI systems perform as intended.
  • Design tool integrations. Build the tool layer: MCPs, APIs, data contracts, and robust error handling for reliable tool use.
  • Influence technical direction. Contribute to architectural decisions, push back when needed, and propose better approaches.

Qualifications

  • Production AI Agent Engineering: Ship AI systems that serve real users at scale. Understand context management, model selection and routing, cost engineering, tool use and agent augmentation, and evaluation.
  • Product mindset: Identify user pain, understand requirements, and build pragmatic, high-impact solutions with fast iteration under ambiguity.
  • Full-Stack Delivery: Experience across LLM integration, backend services, data pipelines, and frontend to ship end-to-end.
  • Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to engineers and business colleagues; proactive collaboration.
  • Fluent in AI-assisted development and can mentor others in it.
