About the role

Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) is seeking a Solution Architect to design and deploy cutting-edge architectures that transform businesses, collaborating with stakeholders, driving governance, and delivering AI and cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers customer/partner insights from stakeholders to shape project definition and execution; adapts solutions based on industry trends.
  • Socializes business solutions and project approach with customer/partner stakeholders to determine changes needed to the solution.
  • Represents the customer/partner as a customer advocate and shares insights with Product Engineering to improve Microsoft technologies and offerings.
  • Leverages structured architecture methodologies to create and scale solutions across multiple customers/partners; maintains architecture documents and traceability matrices.
  • Leads architecture discussions to communicate value, ROI, and costs; collaborates with Project Manager on governance and delivery of POCs and pilots.
  • Gathers and ratifies requirements with business sponsor and stakeholders; manages ambiguity and maintains traceability matrices.
  • Develops costed, advanced solution approaches with tradeoffs; leads implementation in partnership with Project Manager and ensures pre-sales value proposition is communicated.
  • Identifies and mitigates business and technical risks; defines contingency plans and oversees delivery of consulting engagements as needed.
  • Participates in practice development by generating/improving intellectual property and promoting reuse of IP.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders, building strategic relationships and staying current with Microsoft technologies.
  • Leads thought leadership by sharing ideas and mentoring colleagues; participates in external architect communities and events.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience in technology solutions/architecture OR Bachelor's Degree in same fields with 8+ years of experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • 2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
