About the role

Senior Engineering Manager responsible for delivery, technical direction, and team health within the Diagnose & Prescribe (D&P) service estate. Leads AI-native, event-driven, full-stack engineering efforts from diagnosis through prescription to onboarding and growth tracking, with a focus on adoption, user impact, and scalable platform evolution.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery, technical direction, and team health in the D&P service estate — the full learner and customer journey from diagnosis through prescription to onboarding and growth tracking.

Qualifications

  • Engineering management of full-stack teams shipping production software with strong architectural review abilities
  • Led a team that shipped AI features to real users and operated them
  • Strong Python/TypeScript (and willingness to learn TypeScript if needed), React/Next.js, tRPC/GraphQL, Node/Express
  • PostgreSQL at scale via an ORM with migration discipline on large, live schemas
  • Event-driven systems on RabbitMQ with versioned events, idempotency, backward-compatible migrations
  • High engineering maturity: typing, testing, feature flags, ADRs, CI/CD, observability
  • AI-native delivery experience with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, understanding context management, model selection, tool design, token economics
  • Ability to work closely with Product and Design and go-to-market to translate behavior into technical direction
  • GTM/acquisition-funnel experience and experience with legacy monolith plus greenfield edge-native product
  • Strangler-pattern pragmatism; accessibility and UX defaults on learner-facing surfaces
