About the role

Senior backend-focused role owning end-to-end cloud partner integrations for ClickHouse Cloud, with multi-tenant architecture, identity/auth, and production-grade reliability. Remote from Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the architecture: auth and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance, and production considerations
  • Running what you build: on-call responsibilities, owning infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability
  • Working on top of external platforms you can’t change, and clearly delineating shared risks
  • Partnering with internal dependent teams: defining interfaces and maintaining momentum
  • Documenting architectural direction and decisions (design docs, RFCs)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building software, with data-heavy or integration-flavored systems
  • Solid backend and systems instincts (deployment topology, multi-tenancy, data movement)
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries
  • Experience integrating with other platforms with incomplete docs and potential breaking changes
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and shipping before specs are finished
  • Strong collaboration with other engineers and cross-team alignment
  • Backend-focused with ability to contribute in JavaScript/TypeScript when needed
  • Experience using AI tools and ability to explain where they were used
  • Strong writing skills for design docs, PRs, and RFCs
