About the role

Senior backend-focused role responsible for end-to-end integration architecture and delivery to connect ClickHouse Cloud with customer environments, external platforms, and partner ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Owning an integration end to end: the design, the code, and the production system that keeps running after launch.
  • Owning the architecture: auth and identity flows, multi-tenancy, how data moves and where it's allowed to live, performance, and what happens in production
  • Running what you build: on-call for your own work, owning infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability behind it
  • Working on top of external platforms you can't change, and being clear about which risks are yours to manage
  • Partnering closely with internal teams whose services you depend on: clarifying interfaces and enabling progress
  • Writing design docs, RFCs, and analogous documentation to shape team direction

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building software, with a good chunk of it on data-heavy or integration-flavored systems
  • Solid backend and systems instincts around deployment topology, multi-tenancy, and data movement
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries
  • Experience building on someone else’s platform with incomplete docs and potential breaking changes
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shipping before specs are finished, able to flag hard-to-undo decisions
  • Strong collaboration with other engineers and ability to influence without owning all components
  • Backend-focused with enough JavaScript/TypeScript skills to contribute when needed
  • Proficient with AI tools and able to reference where they were used
  • Strong written communication skills (design docs, PRs, RFCs)
