About the role

Senior backend engineer responsible for end-to-end integration with external platforms to bring ClickHouse Cloud into customers’ environments, setting technical defaults, owning architecture and production readiness in a partner-driven, multi-tenant context.

Responsibilities

  • Owning an integration end to end: the design, the code, and the production system that keeps running after launch.
  • Owning the architecture: auth and identity flows, multi-tenancy, data movement, performance, and production handling.
  • Running what you build: on-call for your own work, owning infrastructure, CI, deployment, and observability.
  • Working on top of external platforms you can't change and managing associated risks.
  • Partnering with internal teams to define interfaces and unblock progress.
  • Documenting decisions and shaping team direction through design docs, RFCs, and related artifacts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building software, with a focus on data-heavy or integration-flavored systems
  • Solid backend and systems instincts (deployment topology, multi-tenancy, data movement)
  • Experience with modern auth protocols, service principals, and identity federation across trust boundaries
  • Experience integrating on someone else’s platform with incomplete docs and potential breaking changes
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shipping before specs are finished
  • Collaborative mindset with other engineers and cross-team interaction
  • Backend-focused with ability to work in JavaScript/TypeScript when needed
  • Experience using AI tools and awareness of their bounds
  • Strong written communication for design docs, PRs, and RFCs
